Unlike in previous Animal Crossing games, where you had a single dedicated recycle bin found inside the Civic Center, in New Leaf you can place trash cans in your village through Public Works.
In New Leaf, you can improve your town until it is considered to beperfect, also known as 'the best town ever!' When you have a perfect town, you may find Jacob's Ladderflowers growing near the cliffs, you may find valuable rare mushroomsburied near tree stumps, and most importantly, you can get the goldenwatering can if you maintain your perfect status for fifteen days straight!
How to Get a Perfect Town
You can check the quality of your town by talking to Isabelle at thefront desk and asking her about citizen satisfaction. She will read commentsfrom residents. If your town is not yet perfect, she will recommend someways to improve it. If your town IS currently perfect, it will be describedas 'the best town ever!'
Build More Public Works Projects
One of the things Isabelle might recommend when you ask about citizen satisifaction is to build more public works projects. This does not includebuilding upgrades like the Museum Shop, Dream Suite, etc. It's basedon public works projects that you build outside in your town, suchas benches, fountains, the Reset Surveillance Center, street lights, andso on.
However! Certain public works projects actually reducecitizen satisfaction. These include bright lights and screens (e.g. the videoscreen, the illuminated arch, etc.) or things like the drilling rig,tire toy, or garbage can.
Plant More Flowers
Having a large number offlowers in your town is very beneficial to citizen satisfaction,so be sure to buy and plant flowers from the garden center often.In New Leaf, you don't need to worry about having certain numbers of flowersper acre. It's just based on total number of flowers.
Also, if you plant the same typeof flower next to each other (roses with roses, pansies with pansies, etc.) this can cause new flowers of the same type to grow nearby,and may cause hybrid flowers to grow.
In addition, if you have flowers of the same type in a group,your villagers might plant new flowers of the same type nearby, whichhelps increase your flower count more quickly.
Be sure to water your flowers. Wilting flowers don't contribute to yourflower count. If you enact the beautiful town ordinance, you flowers almost never wilt.Note that if it rains in your town, it waters all of the flowers in yourtown that day.
Plant More Trees
If you don't have enough trees (regular trees, fruit trees, leafless trees, fully grown bamboo, palm trees,and possibly tree stumps)in your town, you can't have a perfect town,but if you have too many trees, this might decrease your citizen satisfaction. Isabelle's comments can help you figure this out.In New Leaf, you don't need to worry about having certain numbers of treesper acre. It's just based on total number of trees.
Keep it Clean
Citizen satisfaction is reduced if you have weeds or items on the ground,so be sure to pull weeds and remove litter from the ground. Thingsthat DON'T count as litter are normal fruits, seashells, flowers,mushrooms,buried gyroids, buried unassessed fossils, and buried pitfall seeds. Almost everythingelse on the ground or buried underground is considered litter.
Get Villagers to Move In
You can have up to ten villagers living in your town at a time. If you havefewer than ten, this can reduce citizen satisfaction.
Perfect Town Rewards
When you have a perfect town, you can get special items and public worksprojects.
New Public Works Projects
The first time your town achieves 'best town ever' status, Isabelle willadd the Flower Clock and some Town Hall renovations to the list of public works projects. The Flower Clock improves citizen satisfaction a lot, soI strongly recommend that you build it!
Jacob's Ladder Flowers
If your town has perfect status, you may find white flowers at the tops ofyour cliffs with three bell-shaped blooms.These flowers are called Jacob's Ladders, and they only appearin your town if it has perfect status. However, Jacob's Ladders don'tdisappear if you lose your perfect town status, so it's possible to haveJacob's Ladders in your town even if you don't have a perfect town.
Rare Mushrooms
If you have tree stumps in your town, and your town currently has perfectstatus, you may find a rare mushroom buried near a tree stump in your town.This mushroom is quite valuable and only appears if your town hasperfect status.
Golden Watering Can
If you maintain your perfect town status for 15 days straight, Isabellewill give you the Golden Watering can on the fifteenth day when you ask her about citizen satisfaction. The golden watering can allows you to water nine flowers at a time.Read thegolden and silver tools page formore information about the golden watering can.
Design codes are different from the QR codes that come from previous Animal Crossing games.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can create their own designs and patterns that can be used as clothing, artwork, and more. Players can also share these creations with the world through special Design Codes that can be entered in the Custom Designs Portal in the Able Sisters shop.
These Design Codes are different from the QR codes that were generated in past Animal Crossing games, like Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Instead of scanning a QR code using your mobile device, you can add these new patterns to your game by using each design’s special code.
If you find a design online that you want to add to your New Horizons account, just follow these steps to add it to your game!
Before we begin, though, there are few requirements to keep in mind. If you want to add these patterns to your game, you need to have the Able Sisters shop unlocked, and you must have a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Finally, you must be connected to the internet (even if temporarily).
Head into the Able Sisters shop and interact with the Custom Designs Portal at the back of the store.
Select “Access the kiosk.” Your Switch will connect to the internet.
If you want to search for an individual design, select “Search by Design ID.” If you want to search for a creator to view all of their designs, choose “Search by Creator ID.”
For this guide, we’ll show you how to download this Mimikyu Hat shared by Instagram user kyutii_arts. Since we’re looking for just the hat, we’ll select “Search by Design ID.”
Type the code for the design or creator you want to find, and then select “Confirm” or press the “+” button to enter it.
Animal Crossing New Leaf Cheats
If you entered the code correctly, New Horizons will show you the pattern and allow you to save it. Select “Save.” Please note that if you searched for a Creator ID instead, you'll see a menu with all of that player's available designs, and you can select the one you want to save.
The Custom Designs app on your Nook Phone will open, allowing you to save the design to one of your design slots. Move your cursor to the slot you want to use and press “A” to select it.
Select “Overwrite it.” to save the design to that slot.

And that’s all there is to it! The design will be saved to your Custom Designs app, and you can use it just like you would any other custom design in the game.
